I recently wrote an article for ChicMomMagazine.com. You can find on this site, which I love, articles on everything from how to have a chic home, family and sense of self. The article I wrote was the Top Ten Ways To Throw A Party On A Dime! Although the holidays are over, we love to host parties year-round. Hope this helps you with your next event. Check it out and let me know what you think!
So if you are new to me and my site, then you haven’t heard me talk about this website yet. If you aren’t, then this is oh so familiar.
This website is the reason why I have been in the media so much lately. It all started when I was shouting its praises from the rooftops. Basically, you go to this site, type in the website you are going to shop on (ie. www.bananarepublic.com, www.omahasteaks.com, etc.) and it will pull up discount codes you can use on the website.
2 things set this website apart from the rest:
1. The codes are posted by regular people who recieve emails from the stores or other promotional material. This way, you don’t have to sign up to receive emails from every online store you shop on.
2. The codes are rated according their success rate. The site has many loyal members who will go on and say whether the code worked or not.
So before you shop, visit www.RetailMeNot.com to get the best deal!
As a new bride, I don’t look back on the wedding gifts I received and think “I really wish I received a salad spinner”. One of the hardest things during the wedding planning process was creating my registry. As we walked around Macy’s, Bed Bath & Beyond and Target, we couldn’t find anything that we really wanted that we already didn’t have. Most peoples advice is to put affordable gifts on your registry, but if you live on your own or together before getting married, you probably have all the affordable things you would need or want. This just turns your registry into a “wish list” of things that you wouldn’t necessarily buy for yourself and, in turn, most of your guests couldn’t afford as well.
I personally would rather go on a free honeymoon than receive a crystal vase or knife set. How do you get a free honeymoon? Well, you use the wonderful website www.TheHoneymoon.com. The happy couple creates a registry that is specific to their honeymoon. They can add a candellight dinner on the beach, casino visit, horseback, etc. Guests can then purchase an activity and feel as though they helped you create memories instead of just getting you a serving dish.
TheHoneymoon.com is a convenient, fun way to give a couple exactly what you want for a wedding gift.
It is free to create a registry. TheHoneymoon.com will send you a check a month before the wedding and the last check a week after the wedding for the total purchased by your guests. You can use this money to pay off your honeymoon or use it as spending money.
Just another way to be debt free after your wedding!
Many photographers will give you digital copies of many of your pictures. What are you supposed to do with them after you already have them printed or made into a book? Well, you can make a photo montage. Dot Photo has a new application that is customizable and completely free. You can upload your photo, add music, create transitions and change the color of your photos to create a slide show to music. Dot Photo then creates it for you and gives you a link for you to email it to your family and friends or you can upload it to Youtube, Facebook, etc.
Here is the photo montage I created of my wedding…
I have already said this and I will say it again… what has helped me have my dream wedding for less is my favorite site RetailMeNot.com!
Using this site saved me hundreds of dollars not just for my wedding but in everyday shopping. You should visit this site before you make any online purchases. I am sure you will find it to be a lifesaver as well.
