On December 19th, 2009, I cried and cried and cried. Why? Because I am a sucker for love! As one of the wedding day coordinators, I had the privilege of making sure that day went smoothly for Amber & David Stephens. From finding the missing Tylenol (not to be confused with the upset stomach medicine), to tracking down the Maid of Honor’s keys and a lighter that worked for longer than 2 seconds, to keeping the photographer on schedule, the day was full of minor challenges. But everything faded to black when Amber was waiting at the top of the stairs with her father ready for us to open the doors so she could walk the aisle.

As I watched through the small window of the door, I was comforted to see that I wasn’t the only one with tears in their eyes. The best feeling in the world to me is to know that I put out fires, both big and small, that brides didn’t even know existed. Tough financial times hit future brides every day and a lot of things seem out of the budget. Just try to make sure that you have someone in your corner that day that will fix all the things you don’t want to hear or know about. And make sure they care enough to cry tears of joy with everyone else!
